How far in advance should I book?

We recommend booking at least 2-4 weeks in advance to ensure availability, especially for weekend dates during our busy seasons (summer and holiday periods). Some popular characters and dates book up quickly! For peak seasons like December or summertime weekends, consider booking 4-8 weeks in advance for the best chance at securing your preferred date and character.

What is your cancellation policy?

Accepted Answer

Cancellations made more than 14 days before the event will receive a full refund of the booking fee. We cannot offer refunds for cancellations within 14 days of the event, but you can reschedule to another date. In case of weather emergencies or illness, please contact us as soon as possible to discuss options.

What's required to book a character?

Accepted Answer

To book a character, first submit an inquiry through our "Inquire Now" page with your event details. After we confirm availability and discuss details with you, we'll send you to our full booking form. A booking fee is required to secure your booking, with the remaining balance due at the event. We accept payment via Squarespace, Zelle, or cash.

Can I book multiple characters for my event?

Absolutely! Many clients book multiple characters for larger events or to create a more immersive experience. We offer special package rates for multiple character bookings.

What happens if it rains on the day of our outdoor event?

Accepted Answer

For outdoor events, we recommend having a covered area or indoor backup plan in case of inclement weather. If severe weather makes it impossible to perform safely, we'll work with you to reschedule. However, light rain or moderate weather conditions will not typically result in cancellation.

What kind of events do you cater to?

At Wish Come True Events, we specialize in creating magical experiences for children and families with our character rentals. Our characters are perfect for birthday parties, school events, and other special occasions. We cater to corporate events, community events, holiday parties, weddings, and more. We can even do stage shows and special performances with multiple characters! Our packages page lists all our most common events, but we can also do custom events. Please contact us if you have any special event in mind!

What kind of activities do you offer?

As part of our Character visit, our packages often include activities, or they can be added on. These activities are designed to engage and entertain guests, making their experience even more memorable. Some examples include: storytelling sessions, singing and dancing performances, themed games and crafts, face painting, cheek glitter, and balloon animals.

What ages are your performances appropriate for?

Our performances are suitable for all ages! We primarily cater to children's events, but we can adapt our performances for adult events as well. Our performers are trained to engage with guests of all ages and customize interactions based on the audience. We'll discuss your specific needs during the booking process to ensure the best experience.

What do your characters do during the event?

Our standard visits include meet & greet time, photos with guests, storytelling, singing, interactive games, and a special moment with the birthday child or guest of honor. Character activities can be customized based on your package and preferences. We also offer add-ons like face painting, balloon twisting, and princess makeovers for an enhanced experience.

Do your characters actually sing?

Yes! All of our performers are vocally trained and will sing appropriate songs during their visit. They can perform classic character songs that children will recognize and love. If you have specific song requests, please let us know in advance so our performers can prepare.

Can we take photos with the characters?

Accepted Answer

Absolutely! Photo opportunities are included in all of our packages. We encourage you to take as many photos as you'd like during the character visit. Our performers are experienced in posing for photos and will ensure everyone who wants a picture gets one.

How authentic are your costumes and characters?

Our costumes are the highest quality, professional-grade outfits that look authentic and magical. Our performers undergo extensive training to embody the mannerisms, voice, and personality of their characters. If you don't see a particular character listed on our website, please contact us! We regularly expand our character lineup and may be able to accommodate special requests.

We primarily serve the Greater Chicago Area. This includes Chicago proper and surrounding suburbs. Small travel fees may apply based upon mileage driven by our performers. Please contact us if you're unsure whether your location is within our service area.

How early will the character arrive?

Our characters typically arrive 10-15 minutes prior to the scheduled start time to prepare. Our performers are professionals who value punctuality and will communicate with you if there are any unexpected delays.

Do you provide props or decorations?

Our performers bring character-specific props needed for their performance, but we do not provide general party decorations. However, we can recommend trusted vendors for decoration services if needed. For certain packages, we do offer themed activity materials, crowns, and small gifts that enhance the experience.

Can characters stay for additional time?

Yes, extended time can often be arranged if requested in advance. Additional time is billed at a prorated hourly rate. If you decide during the event that you'd like the character to stay longer, you can request this from the performer, and they will accommodate if their schedule permits.
